Worlington's first team forged a thirty point gap on second placed Lakenheath in Division Two following a thrilling three run victory in a low scoring affair.
Batting first, the league leaders suffered an early setback as Chris Baugh was stumped off the bowling of Greg Palmer before Richard Ford (56) and Jimmy Watson (37) added 97 for the second wicket.
This was to be the highest partnership of the innings though as Paul Pallant (6-32) and Tim Milner (3-52) ripped through the strong Worlington batting line up with the final wicket falling in the last over for a total of just 154.
The Lakenheath innings followed a similar pattern to that of their visitors as Mark Harvey was dismissed by Nathan Twiddy (1-16) with just nine on the board and then Carl Manels removed Shane Leech before knocks from Ellis Frith (30) and Rob Horrex (36) helped push Lakenheath beyond the 100 mark.
It was the introduction of Craig Woollard, however, that swung the game back into Worlington's favour as his haul reduced Lakenheath to 151-9.
Woollard had the task of bowling the last over and with four to win from the last ball, Greg Palmer picked out Jimmy Watson to give Woollard (6-46) his sixth wicket and Worlington victors by the narrow margin of just three runs.
